Yale Romanization System

Romanization is the use of English letters to represent Cantonese syllables. If you are unable to read Chinese characters, you can still read what is written in English. Our school has chosen to use Yale romanization system as it is very similar to English and French pronunciation, which children can relate easier to it.

Cantonese have six (6) disctinctive tones, which makes it harder to learn than other Chinese dialect. The best way to learn is to listen closely to native speakers and to mimic the sounds they make.
